Public Comment Opportunity: Speak at School Board Meetings
Write down your key points—focus on 1–2 main ideas
Practice saying them out loud so you stay within the time limit.
2. Be Clear and Concise
Start with a quick introduction: your name and your connection (parent, student, educator, community member).
Get to the heart of your message quickly—three minutes goes fast!
3. Speak with Impact
Share a personal story or example—real experiences connect.
Offer solutions or suggestions, not just concerns.
Even if you disagree, keep your tone professional and constructive.
Remember: your words are more powerful when delivered with calm confidence.
Keep track of the clock—practice at home with a timer.
End with a clear call to action: “I urge you to support…” or “Please consider…”
If you’re not speaking, your presence still matters. Applause, nods, and encouragement let speakers know they’re not alone.
