Ebony Burnett is a wife, mom of two Guilford County School students, former classroom teacher, and YMCA youth director.  She is a longtime advocate for children and families.  Ebony is running for Guilford County Schools Board of Education in District 4 because she knows that when students succeed, our entire community thrives. Ebony will bring her collaborative mindset and her range of both lived and professional experience to the school board to continue her support of high academic and life outcomes for our students.

Ebony has spent more than two decades working with and for children,  expanding access to afterschool programs, supporting learning recovery during COVID, and fighting for the resources students and staff need to be safe, supported, and successful.

As Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at shift_ed, Ebony brings people together across schools, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations to improve student outcomes. She knows progress happens when families are engaged, partnerships are aligned, and students have clear pathways to success.

This work isn’t just about education. It’s about our collective economic future. Together, we are preparing students to graduate ready for college, careers, and life.

Every child deserves a champion in their corner. And together, we can be those champions.
