Ebony Burnett is a wife, mom of two Guilford County Schools students, former classroom teacher, YMCA youth development leader, and longtime advocate for children and families. She is running for Guilford County Schools Board of Education in District 4 because she knows that when students succeed, our entire community thrives. Ebony will bring more than two decades of experience, a collaborative mindset, and both lived and professional expertise to the school board to support strong academic and life outcomes for every student.

For more than 24 years, Ebony has worked with and for children and families. Throughout her career, she has expanded access to afterschool programs, supported students and families during COVID, strengthened youth development programs, built community partnerships, and advocated for the resources students and educators need to be safe, supported, and successful.

Ebony’s work has centered on bringing schools, nonprofits, businesses, families, and community organizations together around a shared goal: helping children thrive. She understands that schools cannot do this work alone. Progress happens when families are engaged, community resources are aligned, educators are supported, and students have clear pathways to college, careers, and life.

For Ebony, strong public schools are about more than education. They are essential to the strength and economic future of our entire community. When we invest in children today, we are building stronger families, a stronger workforce, and a stronger Guilford County for generations to come.

Every child deserves a champion in their corner. Together, we can be those champions.
